Dr. Demetra Arvanitidis is a board-certified pediatrician who was born, raised, and trained in California her whole life.  She is the daughter of Greek immigrants who came to this land of opportunity to offer a better life for their children.  They exemplified a strong work ethic and emphasized education as a means for progress.  Dr. Demetra graduated from UCSD Medical School, completed her pediatric residency at UCSF Benioff Oakland Children’s Hospital, and also earned a Masters in Public Health at UCLA.  She has worked as a clinical pediatrician in various outpatient clinics and as a hospitalist, and most recently as a physician medical director in utilization management.  She is most proud of and grateful for her husband of 19 years and three amazing children.  She believes that our greatest resource is our children and just as she has dedicated her training and career to ensure the health and well-being of her pediatric patients, she will be dedicated and work relentlessly to advocate for the health and well-being of your children as IUSD School Board member.
